Subject: A Chicago Intermediate School 1953
Large junior high school with 4 floors and a rather young principal who spends a lot of time blowing up little issues into big issues. The boy from the hall patrol wearing size 38 pants reminds me of me at about that age when I was all disporportionate for a year or so. That sure was depressing. I looked just as stupid as he does.
Our junior high didn't have a busy library like this one. In fact, we hardly ever went into it and I don't recall even having a librarian in there.
Many of the scenes depict Chicago as certainly one windy ass place. Pretty good film not nearly as boring as others have found it.
Subject: Rules to fall asleep over
Somewhat blah overview of why schools need so many rules. This later Coronet film is nice to look at in color, but I was somewhat glazed over by the story, which tells of a principal's encounters with various students. The only highlight comes with the dream sequence and Allan's peculiar choice of shirt..
